The kidney is an important organ in the human body. Its main function is to produce urine, clear the metabolites of our body, toxins and wastes, and maintain the balance of water, electrolytes and acids. Kidney disease refers to various diseases of the kidney.
How do we get nephropathy?
Once the kidney is damaged, the environment of human body is difficult to maintain stability and metabolism become abnormal, so a variety of symptoms with complications come out. The reason why we divide kidney disease into stages is in order to strengthen our cognition of early nephropathy’s prevention and treatment.
At the early stage of kidney disease, the patient is usually difficult to have obvious abnormalities, but with the continued development of kidney damage, the patient may appear one or more of the following symptoms:
When they have poor renal function, a lot of waste is difficult to excrete from the urine. They will appear depressed, fatigue, lack of energy and other feelings.
Anorexia, nausea，vomiting, and poor appetite are also common symptoms of kidney disease. Some patients mistakenly thought it was gastrointestinal problems, not pay attention, and finally delayed the illness.
One symptom of nephropathy is the foam in the urine, usually because proteins leak from the kidneys into the urine, which is also known as"proteinuria".
Edema is also one symptom. Renal edema is characterized by eyelid or facial edema in the morning, subside in the afternoon, aggravation after fatigue, and relieve after rest. Severe edema can appear in the lower part of the body, such as the medial ankle, lower limbs, lumbosacral, and so on.
The treatment of nephropathy
The treatment of nephropathy is generally from the following aspects:
①Delay the occurrence and progression of chronic renal insufficiency. What we can do is to treat the primary disease causing nephropathy; delay chronic renal insufficiency; control blood pressure; adjust diet; correct the factors of rapid aggravation of chronic renal failure, and prevent the disease from worsening.
②The prevention and treatment of chronic renal failure complications, includes maintaining water and making electrolyte balance, correcting metabolic acidosis, preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases, correcting renal anemia, preventing and treating renal bone disease, etc. Dialysis and kidney transplantation: When patients disease develop into end stage,we should give them kidney replacement treatment actively, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplantation.
