Lupus nephritis is a damage of kidneys caused by Systemic Lupus Erythematosus(SLE). It is an autoimmune disease which can attack our own body’s immune system. There, our other organs like heart, brain, liver, skin can also get injured. Over 60% lupus patients can develop from protein leakage to kidney failure without controlled symptoms.
The common seen symptoms of lupus nephritis includes swelling of face, legs, ankles. Other symptoms are various from different patients and different disease stages like:
1. Whole body symptoms
Intermittent fever, malar rash(butterfly erythema), joint pain etc
2. Kidney reflection
Simple hematuresis or proteinuria, swelling with proteinuria or high blood pressure. It also involves symptoms of nephritis syndrome, and chronic renal failure.
3. Abnormal test results
You will find decreased while blood cells(<4.0×109/L) when do blood test, anemia, thrombocytopenia, or low alexin C3. Biopsy can not only help us make clear of diagnosis, but also indicates serious severity degree of renal damage which is useful to judge patient’s condition and guide our treatment.
4. Kidney failure
